British marque Aston Martin is set to give its brand new 2019 Vantage GT3 and GT4 machines their first public appearance at Le Mans this weekend.
The two cars, which are not yet homologated for GT competition, are set to take part in a support event for the 24 Hours race.
An Aston Martin Racing Festival is set to take to the Circuit de la Sarthe on Saturday morning prior, with the brand new GT3 and GT4 spec machines to be part of the 45 minute event.
The two cars are set to join the GT racing field in 2019, eight years after the last Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3 made its competition debut.
“The fact that our customers can still purchase the V12 Vantage GT3 and be competitive seven years after it was introduced is a fantastic legacy to build on, and the new cars will take this concept on in leaps and bounds,” said John Gaw, Aston Martin Racing Manager Director.
“The current GT3 is very popular with customers, and there is a desire to spread our marketplace to more championships and at a high level, and from the expressions of interest that we have seen so far I believe we are on track to do that.”
Interest in the new cars has been strong, though neither will be eligible for the 2019 Bathurst 12 Hour which is, in effect, the final race of the 2018 GT season.
Both the GT3 and GT4 variant would however be eligible for the Australian GT Championship from the start of next season.
Also due to break cover for 2019 are the McLaren 720S, Porsche 911 GT3 R, and Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.
